Dr. C. Shane Flaviano

C. Shane Flaviano , MD, has been the medical director at Dignity Health Rehabilitation Hospital since the hospital opened in 2019. In his role, he oversees medical affairs as well as patient and staff safety.

With more than 25 years in health care, Dr. Flaviano has served as medical director at the following facilities: Dignity Health St. Rose Dominican, Rehabilitation Institute of Henderson, Boulder City Hospital Acute Rehabilitation, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Henderson and HealthSouth Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Center at Whitney Ranch. Earlier in his career, he was the enterprise clinical information systems liaison at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, an attending physiatrist at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and a faculty member of Northwestern University Medical School.

Dr. Flaviano has bachelor’s degrees in agricultural engineering and agricultural sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and doctor of medicine from the University of the East. He completed a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency and sports medicine fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for more than 25 years, Dr. Flaviano is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and American Academy of Medical Acupuncturists.
